"Track Coach" involved a large amount of casting: not only the boy and his coach, but also the other runners, the crowd in the stands, referees, and the people on the sidewalk. Just to be part of the crowd is challenging. They have to cheer over and over again, displaying just as much enthusiasm at the end of the day as they did at the beginning. Usually a crowd only cheers for a couple of hours! The young men running also had to sprint over and over again, and stay just as fired up the tenth time as they were the first. The crowd and actors, however, were a wonderful addition to the spot because they were enthusiastic about promoting the message: that sometimes it takes someone else to see our potential and challenge us to do our best.
MUSIC: If you believe in me, I will believe in what will be, give us the future
BOY: Even the first day I met Coach, he made me feel like I could do better.
COACH: You can do better.
LYRIC: If you believe in me
VOICEOVER: I hated that. Feeling like the best I could do would only last one day.
LYRIC: I will believe in what will be
VOICEOVER: But I stuck with it
LYRIC: Give us the future, please, thats all we need of you.
VOICEOVER: Well, actually, he stuck with me.
LYRIC: If you believe in me
VOICEOVER: When I finally did win, he wasnt surprised.
COACH: I knew you had it in you.
ANNCR/SUPER: Believing
Pass It On.
COACH: You did real good.
ANNCR/SUPER: A message from The Foundation for a Better Life.
YOUR COMMENT
I love the message and I love the comments about the casting of the film. It's wonderful to know that a crowd of people were willing to give up their time to be part of this film.

I had a coach who would always push me as hard as I could go. I did the mile and during one race got 7:35 and when the race ended he knew I gave my all and never lost faith in me.
