OVERCOMING QUOTATIONS
“When we face the worst that can happen in any situation, we grow. When circumstances are at their worst, we can find our best.”

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

“Being aware of your fear is smart. Overcoming it is the mark of a successful person.”

Seth Godin

“Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they're meant to be.”

B.K.S. Iyengar

“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.”

Richard David Bach

“You are a match for your mountain.”

Danielle Doby

“Show me someone who has done something worthwhile, and I’ll show you someone who has overcome adversity.”

Louis "Lou" Holtz

“For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, its insides come out and everything changes. To someone who doesn't understand growth, it would look like complete destruction.”

Cynthia Occelli

“The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a person perfected without trials. ”

Chinese Proverb

“Although the world is full of suffering, it's full also of the overcoming it.”

Helen Keller

“When you get in a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.”

Harriet Beecher Stowe

“Use what you’ve been through as fuel, believe in yourself and be unstoppable!”

Yvonne Pierre

“Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness... or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have—life itself.”

Walter Anderson

I have been struggling to overcome my problem with alcohol. I know that this is a problem many people deal with, it isn't an easy thing to do. It's not only a big part of our culture, but legal. Most of us start drinking before 21, so it becomes a way of life. I'm only 20 and I'm already trying to stop. I've realized that after you drink, your problems are still going to be there. My advice is find a group you can go to close to you, it really helps to know you're not the only one trying to be sober. And remember, take one day at a time. Worry about not drinking the present day, you only have 24 hours. Also stay away from places that will tempt you to drink. It may be hard, but trust me, it feels so good to get through another day without drinking. Know you're good enough to really be happy.

Being a Grandmother who is raising a grandchild, overcoming the age gap is monumental. Especially when the child is 13. As each day passes, I have to overcome obstacles that I never thought I would have to do at the age of 70. Love, Patience, Kindness, Understanding is paramount however, willingness to give each day it's best is joy~!
