The person I look up to is Philip Rivers. He is a good role model for several different reasons. Philip is an honest man. He is also very hard working. He didn't always live a wealthy life.
Philip Rivers loves the sport of football. To most people football is a job, but not to Rivers. Billy Volek once asked Rivers "what is your hobby?"
"Football”, replied Rivers.
"No football is your job", Volek said.
"Football is not a job if you have passion and dedication like me”, Rivers stated.
This quote/conversation not only, shows dedication, but love and passion for football. He has shown me who a true sportsman is. Rivers has been at the bottom of the bottom. Although he worked up gaining more and more respect.
He didn’t always live a wealthy life. When he was little his father coached high school football. He lived football 24/7.
In 2007 he had to have surgery on his leg. He got hit after throwing a 70 yard touchdown pass in the AFC playoffs. He said "every minute he laid in the hospital he was wishing to be with his team."
When he was healthy he went straight back to football. Philip Rivers is a lot more than the Chargers quarterback he is a hero.
