Mrs. L

Mrs. L is a second grade teacher at Hill Elementary School in Lincoln, NE. She is a positive person who never forgets a name. She respects each of her students and works hard to highlight their talents. Throughout the school year, Mrs. L and her husband take two students at a time for a special Saturday morning. They pick the children up from their homes and take them for the morning to a special place: a fun center, a play, or other fun places. The L's pay for the kids' way in and buy them a snack while on their special outing together. My son, Jacob, was so excited about his special day with Mrs. L and her husband. Jacob and his classmate, Devon, were treated to a game of bowling, video games and a snack consisting of Mountain Dew and fries. Every outing is different. For example, another time, the Ls took two children to the performing arts center for a play where the children were asked to wear their pajamas. The Ls went in their pajamas also! I have had the opportunity to see Mrs. L interact with her second grade class. I am impressed with her passion for teaching. She has a special gift of being able to connect with each student and make them feel very important. As a teacher and a special person, she has touched my son's life forever. She makes a difference every day.
