Kindness
My aunt Gina would be one of the nicest people you have ever met if you ever met her. She just always has a smile on her face and no matter what time of day it is, she’ll always be there. If you ever need someone to talk to, she’ll be there for you, even on her worst days she will still be there for you. The unfortunate thing about my aunt is that she lives in California, so I don’t really get to see her often, and it really sucks cause I miss her.
A few weeks ago I was actually thinking of when my aunt was going to come visit again, then I remembered when she took me to Yellowstone National Park a few years ago. It all started when she came to visit one year. We were all at my house having a BBQ when all of a sudden she pulls me out onto the front porch and starts asking me all these random questions like: Do you like bears? Have you ever seen a volcano? Have you ever slept in a cabin before? and so on… Then came the question, “Have you ever been to Yellowstone before?” I knew exactly where she was going. Next thing you know we’re talking to my mom about letting me go with her. It took my mom a second to think about it but she ended up saying yes.
The very next day we were on the road to Yellowstone. It took us about seven hours to get there but on the way there we stopped at a place called BearWorld and it’s full of bears obviously. The bears just roam around like a bunch of zombies while you drive through with your car. While we were there we also took a tour on this gigantic truck, inside there were doughnuts and I was wondering if they were for us but the instructor told us not to eat them which kind of got me upset because I was hungry. But when I found out what the doughnuts were for I wasn’t so upset anymore. The doughnuts were for the bears. We would lean over the side of the truck and there would be around four to five bears lined up against the side of the truck waiting for us to feed them. So we fed them and some of the bears would even wave goodbye to us when we continued on our tour. Anyways, when we reached Yellowstone we went to this place where all these cabins were and we stayed in one. It wasn’t what I expected though. There was a nice looking TV in there and big comfortable beds. That first night we were there me and my cousins just watched shark week all night long while my aunt and her husband went to a bar for a bit.
Early in the morning my aunt woke us up to some hot chocolate, after I was done with mine I decided to step outside to see the beautiful morning sky. As I walked out the cabin I could see all the open land. It was so gigantic and green, also full of trees. I could hear all the birds singing in the morning, but the smell outside was not so great. It smelled like rotten eggs because of the geysers they have there. I step back inside and my aunt told me to get ready to go to the hot tub, so I do and I relaxed there for a long while. After we were done we went driving around the national park. We saw all kinds of bears being lazy out in the fields, we also seen eagles, buffalos, and lots of deer. We went to see these scary looking caves that had steam coming from them and those caves WREAKED like something I have never smelled before in my life. It was horrid. We then went to see Old Faithful which was pretty amazing as well. And to top that off we went to go get the best ice cream I have ever tasted in the whole wide world. That weekend was one of the best weekends of my life. It was so fun and I had such a great time with my cousins. From that weekend on my aunt has been one of my heroes because she doesn’t only care about herself, she puts others before her own self and cares about how others feel, not just how she feels. One thing my aunt has taught me is not to always think about yourself but to be kind and think about how others feel.
