when i first walked into that sundayschool class i thought, "wow, he is way too cool to be friends with me." after we became best friends, of course, he confessed that he thought the same.
i have never fell in & out of love as many times as i had with him. It was definitely a hate/love relationship.
there were a lot of things i thought of him but the normal thoughts faded when i found out he'd cut himself. i confessed that i'd done it too. he said he cut a lot because he missed his brother who had killed himself a few years before.
as i got to know him, we showed eachother's hearts more. we even gave eachother mix cds cuz it was hard for us to talk about some things.
now, about 3 1/2 years later we're still best friends. looking back on it i felt silly for thinking he was "too cool." that "cool kid" helped me through my eating disorder, depression & suicidal episodes.
he's 18 now & he's a man. i kinda watched him grow up, and he me.
and everyday i hope i've grown into a beautiful young woman in his eyes.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
