I'm 21 years old and at the moment feel like I have the best friend anyone could ever ask for. Her name is Carolyn (I call her Caz) and I love her more than anything. I really do. She's done so much for me that I have no idea how I'm ever going to repay her for her kindness. Before we'd really become close friends, I was looking to buy my first car after finishing secondary school and out of the blue Carolyn offered to teach me how to pick out a reliable car for the first time, helped me to buy it and told me that she'll always be there to help me when I get into trouble with my car. Since then I've felt the strongest bond with a friend that I've had in several years. She gave me the best 21st birthday any girl could dream of by taking me out for a day of retail therapy and bought me a whole new wardrobe. She gave me my pet bird Monty who became a companion to me for over 10 years, and she was there to give me a shoulder to cry on when he died late in 2013. When that happened Caz was the only one who could make me smile and laugh again, even though I was still feeling sad. I started doing work experience at my local newsagency where Caz works and she was like my mentor while I was there, even though I was slow at picking things up, she showed me how retail works and she taught me how to interact with customers. I can honestly say she feels like my second mum because she supports and encourages me in the same way my family does, and I know I can go to her whenever I'm feeling down or just need someone understanding to talk to. I wouldn't be who I am now if it wasn't for Carolyn; I mean, some people have even told me that I've become like a mini-Caz! I love spending time with her and whenever I'm with her I feel like I can be myself and she makes me feel confident in who I am and that everything is going to work out ok. This is the third tribute I've posted online to her because I want people to know how much Carolyn means to me and how much of a special friend she is. Love you to the moon and back Caz I'd be lost without ya bud XXX :-)
