Having my parents separated was hard on me when I was young. I never understood why they weren’t together anymore, and why I didn’t see my mom as often. But as time passed, I got close to both of my parents even though I didn’t live with them in the same house. I went back and forth to each house every week and it did take a toll on me. But I realized that I had a better life than other kids that went through a divorce. I had two parents that loved me dearly and wanted the best for me, compared to kids that none of their parents wanted them. So in my heart I wanted to help these kids be in good homes, have parents that love them and realized that a divorce is not all bad. Then I realized that I wanted to become a family lawyer or social worker. I just want to be able to see kids grow up in a loving home and see their dreams come true.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
