My mother, Ann, is an inspiration to me. She just survived her 8th brain surgery to remove her 17th malignant tumor. She's in a very small percentile of people to even have this kind of aggressive meningioma and an even smaller number of those who survive.
Before these problems, she raised three kids in a tiny town in Colorado. She cooked on a wood stove, endured 50F below temperatures, drove 80 miles for groceries and then eventually went back to school (2+ hour drive each way) and got her teaching degree. She was a lifeguard and teacher for low income, high risk children when her first tumor was discovered in 1996.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
