Derek Dahlberg

Derek is my hero. I have been through so many struggles and challenges in my life and Derek has truly made me a survivor. He was born with cerebral palsy. Every thing he does is a struggle for him. He is very stubborn....I think that's why he has come such a long ways. Derek also loves to listen to music and loves to laugh. He works on an ipad and has a computer that he uses as his voice. He also knows some sign language.Before I gave birth to him I was a very judgemental person. I would see children in school with special needs and I would tease them. I would call them names and not give them the time of day. Today whether it is a child adult physically or mentally challenged I am the first one to introduce myself, greet them with a smile, open the door etc. To make a long story short Derek has not only changed my life but he's changed many others. He's a wonderful young man! I love you Derek. Thank you for being a great inspiration to all.
