Carol came from a blue collar family and built a million dollar business that served as a great vacation stopover, a safe haven for the homeless families, and a summer recreation spot for families. Carol managed to get people to back her up financially to purchase land with a considerably large lake next to the interstate highway. Her vision started with a summer swimming place and private beach club; then through the years bought out her backers and made it even better by adding a campground and country store in a ballroom that overlooked the lake. About this time I came to work for her in the country store. It amazed me at how much she had accomplished. she now had income throughout all the year making people happy. My husband and I both worked for Carol when we first moved to Ohio. Carol taught me about setting up for weddings and presenting what we had to offer to interested brides. Later another ballroom was builton the beachside of the lake for weddings, etc. The lake offered fishing, swimming, paddle boats, etc. The ballrooms were built with windows overlooking the lake which made for a very romantic setting. After some time, she started using one of the ballrooms for a church. She became a minister, along with her husband who worked hard maintaining their business ventures. She started a ministry school through the church and helped me get started with my ministry training. I have seen first hand how she let homeless people come and stay in some campers she owned and helped them get resestablished into the community and their spiritual lives. I remember as a teenager how much I wanted to be just like her. She had a vison and found a way to make it happen with her faith in the Lord to guide her.
