My son works in a building where ammonia is used under pressure as a coolant. The machine failed and released 100 pounds of pressurized ammonia into the air. Someone rushed up to him with a gas mask and told him what happened. He told the guy he needed another gas mask, took the mask he had, ran into the gas and gave it to a coworker. He then escorted the coworker to safety. Then he went back and chased everybody out of the building. He went back a third time into the building to look for stragglers and ran headlong into the cloud. The first responder got him out and he is OK now. There’s a reason why companies should hire veterans and it’s not only about the job.
