Armando Galarraga handled the denial of his perfect game with the grace of a champion. While playing for the Detroit Tigers, pitcher Armando Galarraga was one out away from the perfect game when veteran umpire Jim Joyce called a runner safe at first base, when he was clearly out and instant replay confirmed. It cost this young pitcher a "Perfect Game". But Armando reacted to it in the best show of sportsmanship I have ever seen. Galarraga could have blown up, but he remained calm and composed and showed compassion for that umpire, even after he admitted he blew the call.
What an inspiration and great role model for impressionable youngsters that were watching. That in itself makes this Armando's perfect game.
