I have to say too that my Mom is my hero. Our family lost my father in 1972. She is the mother of 3, I am the middle child. I was 13, my brother 14 and my baby sister was 9. My mother has taught me all there is to know about being a mother myself and the type of person that people can depend on. When we were growing up we didn't have a lot but had what we needed. The love she gave then and to this day is beyond what I can put into words. She has given of herself in every way...she has taught me to give to people when they are down, to be a true friend, to be loyal and honest and to trust others. I am 51 years old now and have 3 children of my own and a grandson. My hope is that I have been able to pass on the values she gave me to my children. The world is a better place because of her and I aspire to be like her.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
