My hero is a hero for several different reasons. When I met him I was lost. I just lost my father to lung cancer and I was taking care of my three kids and my dad's mother whom was 82 yrs old, and not to mention her husband also. I started talking to a soldier in Iraq. I needed someone to talk to. He became my inspiration, my best friend, my focus. Talking to him made me want to be a better person. I came out of the darkness because of him. He came home and I had found him an apartment. I was scared to meet him face to face and say thank you. I had no reason to be scared. We have been together for almost four years now and married two. I thank God all the time for him. We have a wonderful life together now. He has inspired me to sketch and paint, to finish my education, he has provided me and my children with a wonderful life. Not to mention he has been a soldier for the Army for almost 11 yrs now. He has been deployed 4 times. He teaches classes and is a very hard worker. So there you have it, that is my hero.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
