Especially on a day in our country as sad as today is, let us seek healing in all areas of our lives, in each and every relationship.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was a great man and President to know this and act accordingly. We need to teach these skills of interpersonal communications and cooperative relationship skills NOW. Our society just has not put a priority on these so called "soft skills", but rather on technical skills. As a Human Resources professional, people don't end up in my office for problems around technical skills, but instead they are meeting with me because of interpersonal relationship and behavior issues. We need to change the priority if we ever expect to have peace in this world.

I don't think it's a science. I think it is more about what parents teach their children. If parents have really strong views about 'others' in negative light they pass that onto their children. On the other side my parents had strong views that we are all made of the same stuff. They taught us that we had all races in us and they taught us that we are one race, the Human race.

Hmmmm... we used to teach human relationships (history, civics, psychology, sociology, anthropology... you know... the social sciences) in our public schools. They have been replaced by math and science standards...
