—William Shatner
Only people living in a galaxy far from ours haven’t seen, heard, read about or been entertained by the inspiring William Shatner. His lifetime of writing, acting, singing and interest in outer space have taken him from Broadway to the Milky Way.
In 2021, at 90-years-old, he became the first nonagenarian ever to go into space. But for many, he has already taken us there in his beloved role as Captain James T. Kirk in the Television Series, Star Trek.
“You either believe in yourself or you don't.” —William Shatner as James T. Kirk, “Star Trek”
William Shatner’s accomplishments show a man who, even through tough times, believes in himself (even if he doesn’t like watching himself perform). He’s a member of more Halls of Fame (5) than most of us have ever visited. (Television Hall of Fame, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Canada’s Walk of Fame, ASHA Breeders Hall of Fame and the WWE Hall of Fame.) He also raises money for children in need through the Hollywood Charity Horse Show. Oh, and he’s also been presented two honorary doctorates of letters, a Golden Globe and two Emmy awards.
“I can act. I have an Emmy.” —William Shatner as Denny Crane, “Boston Legal”
From Star Trek to TJ Hooker to Boston Legal to the Masked Singer and everything in between William Shatner embodies the idea that life is a journey and age is just a number.
“Grandpa Hooker downed a gallon of coffee a day and made it to 94.” —William Shatner as Sgt. T.J. Hooker
He could have easily retired decades ago and rested on his substantial laurels, but the William Shatner we have come to know and admire lives life looking for the next adventure.
“You have to create your life. You have to carve it, like a sculpture.” —William Shatner
Or in the immortal words of Captain James T. Kirk … “Boldly Go.”
